The city administration is about to change trace for Light Rail Transit (LRT) which aims to smoothen its construction and not disturb Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.

"MRT trace does not changed, because our priority is fast train and MRT," expressed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Tuesday (1/19).

According to him, the delay in MRT project until 28 years, causing trace overlapping trace. There are at least nine stations which intersect on both rail-based transport modes. Because, the LRT is built to become a feeder for MRT.

"Our priority is MRT, for carrying passenger from Balaraja-Cikarang," he stated.

Thus, he continued, trace for LRT must be regenerated in order to avoid overlapping. As planned, it will be shortened.

"This is about delay in MRT project. If it is delay, the trace must be regenerated, so LRT will serve until Pulomas, surely short," he closed.
